Notes: Return To Forever Budapest, HU - Papp László Budapest Arena 2008-07-05 Source: MD Master (Sharp MD, Sony mic) Running time: 143min. Quality: Effing marvellous! This is the best concert I have ever seen, period. It started off with a faulty drummike, clearly audible on the recording, but that was corrected fast and the show went off without any more hitches. Oh, except for the fact that Al was missing from the stage after one of the solos, and while the rest of the band were looking in his direction hoping he would show up soon mr. Clarke gave us a short improvised bass-thingy. Very nice indeed. All in all the band seemed to enjoy every minute of the show, as did the audience. I´m going to Paris tomorrow and I hope that show will be as good. I also hope someone else is recording that one since I won´t. My first visit to the classic Olympia will not be marred by recording :) During Chick´s solo the band starts playing as a 3-piece (Al is not there), what seems like a vintage jazz-standard-thingy. Perhaps Summertime (which has been mentioned in previous setlists?) or something else? If anyone could help me out I would be ost obliged. The sound on this one turned out so much better than I had expected from a sports arena. I hope you´ll all agree with me. Thanks to Al, Stanley, Lenny and the almighty Chick for giving the world this last (?) glimpse of what REAL music is all about. disc 1 / set 1 (64.58min.) 1. Hymn of the seventh galaxy 2.
