Notes: Eric Clapton "Montevideo Blues" Estádio Centenário Montevideo, Uruguay October 3, 1990 United - UR 005/6 - SB 6 Volume 1 (UR 005): 1) I Wonder Why (Mick Taylor) 2) Laundromat Blues (Mick Taylor) 3) Red House / Goin' Down Slow (Mick Taylor) 4) Goin' South (Mick Taylor) 5) You Gotta Move (Mick Taylor) 6) Pretending 7) No Alibis 8) Running On Faith 9) I Shot the Sheriff (incomplete) Volume 2 (UR 006): 1) White Room 2) Can't Find My Way Home 3) Bad Love 4) Before You Accuse Me 5) Old Love 6) Badge 7) Wonderful Tonight 8) Cocaine 9) Layla Band Lineup: Eric Clapton: Guitar, Vocals Phil Palmer: Guitar Nathan East: Bass Steve Ferrone: Drums Greg Phillinganes: Keyboards Ray Cooper: Percussion Katie Kissoon: Backing Vocals Tessa Niles: Backing Vocals Geetarz Comments: This performance was broadcast on television, as well as a stereo FM simulcast. Numerous versions (silver cd, cd-r, and "fan" issues) exist from this date. "Montevideo Blues" was an early silver CD release on the United label, perhaps the first silver of this performance, listing "ANOTHER EXCELLENT RELEASE OF UNITED RECORD, A DIVISION OF U.I.B. ASSOCIATES". As was the case with many of the early pressed (silver) CD boots, it was released in two parts, Volume 1 and Volume 2, as apparently the technology of the double CD jewel case (even the old style "fat" double case) was not available to bootleggers at the time ;) It's a nice hot soundboard, and begins with Mick Taylor's opening set. Of note, during the 1990 tour setlist the band would segue between the end of "I Shot the Sheriff" into "White Room", and of course the geniuses at the TV station determined that the correct place for a TV commercial was between the only two songs in the set that were tied together in this way. Never fear, dear downloader, "Wonderful Tonight" is presented here in all its uber-long glory! Since this was recorded from the FM simulcast, the tracks have typical FM carrier wave effects, however they are lossless and FA and SA graphs are included with this download. As a further note, this silver was released in the early 1990s, before lossy technologies were even available to the public, so the only way this would be lossy would be if a time machine was involved! Lineage: Silver > Mitsui Silver CD-R (Secure) > LiteOn iHAP 322 > EAC v. 0.99 Prebeta 4 (Secure Mode, Offset Correct @ +6, 0) > FLAC (Level 8) > You ! Some may feel that it's quite clever to say "if you don't like this torrent ... you're free to ask for a refund for any monies paid, which is none". I don't agree. It takes time to download, it uses bandwidth, it takes up hard drive or disk space when archived, and then there's the cost of burning, labeling, and printing covers for discs, plus the single most important ingredient of all ... TIME, which can never be recaptured. Just throwing something out there with no care as to its extraction or presentation, and even less care to the quality of the material, is a disservice and I'm happy to take that little bit of extra time to extract and present this as best I can. To this end, EAC extraction logs are provided - remember, if you don't see EAC (or other secure ripper) logs in a torrent taken from a CD or CD-R, always ask yourself "why?". I hope you enjoy this show as much as I have, it's been a personal "Top 50" favorite of mine for years. Artwork, checksums (ffp, MD5, ST5), FA and SA, EAC extraction logs, and info file provided. ~Geetarz, October 2009

Notes: I have a 1 disc version of this date. My set is incomplete, having all tracks featured in the setlist above from White Room to the conclusion. This is a nice SBD recording and I have no idea why it is traveling around as an incomplete show.
