Notes: Bonnie Raitt Ruth Eckerd Hall Clearwater, FL (USA) May 22, 2002 Excellent ALD-Soundboard recording (a John Tsalikes recording, from the Jim F. collection) ** mp3 samples provided (as always) in the Comments section ** Here's another fine John T./Jim F. recording brought to you by TheCommish! Final band intro and thanks Lineage: ALD/SBD > D8 (Williams sound box--from the parking lot) > Sony M1 DAT > PC > CDR, then CDR > EAC > WAV > editing (see notes below) > FLAC FrontEnd > FLAC Additional editing notes: * Re-tracked show by combining in Nero, splitting with CD Wave * Re-allocated the show between both discs. The show came to me from Jim as follows: Disc 1 (14 tracks, 73:36 running time), Disc 2 (5 tracks, 29:41 running time). Moved the last 5 tracks from Disc 1 to Disc 2 in order to "balance out" the running time of both discs. * There was a small volume dip in Trcak 203 (0:53-0:57 mark); using Nero's wave editor, I increased the volume in this spot by +3dB. Much smoother now. * Fixed small fade out/in present on Track 204 (4:29-4:41 mark) that was there due to the original discs' tracking ("Thing Called Love" was the last track on Disc 1, but it excluded the minute's worth of banter that's now included in Track 204). * Using Nero's wave editor, removed (as best I could) two spots of diginoise (which last about 1/10 of a second total) at the 1:04 mark of Track 209 * There was about a 2 second dropout in Track 210 but I was able to "fix" it by copying a 4-second section from earlier in the song (from the 1:54-1:58 mark) and patching it over the spot that contained the dropout (the 2:50-2:54 mark). You wouldn't even know there was a dropout if I didn't point out this "fix". Other notes: * There's a small "clunking" sound at the 2:44 mark of Track 201 (left as-is) ALD (assisted listening device) soundboard recordings are usually knocked for their "thin" sound quality (high amount of treble, not enough bass), but I don't think that's a real issue here at all. As such, Jim's files have been unaltered for sound quality (i.e., no EQ performed)--if some of you prefer to have more bass in your ALD recordings, I'll let you do your own EQ work since it then becomes a matter of personal taste. As for me, I think the show sounds great, as-is. Jim F. notes: (regarding his ALD-SBD shows): "ALDs (fm-sbd) perfect captures in most or all cases..however somewhat lacking bass..more than regular fm..The best place to rec these shows was from the park lot..! the signal was the best there..!" If you decide to download this show, won't you please consider posting a comment on the show's board? It only takes a moment, and believe me, it takes A LOT longer to prepare/upload a show for others to enjoy than it does to download and run. And won't you please consider thanking Jim for this mighty fine show? Generously donated by Jim F. (undiscokidd), and uploaded on DIME by TheCommish January 2009
