This one has so much energy. Another in the Kivak Master Series. Joe Kivak rocks! Mr Anonymous transferred the original master cassette to CD. I did the editing and mastering. Super Setlist! Highlights include Incident, New York City Serande, A Love So Fine, Kitty, I Want You and much more. E Street Shuffle cuts off, but this show is well worth having. Bonus tracks include the soundcheck! So this may be the very first time the soundcheck was evr released. The soundcheck quality is somewhat distant and I EQed it the best I could. | Notes: | ONE show, double bill, with Springsteen headlining and JAE MASON opening. The above-mentioned 17-song setlist (plus soundcheck material) is taken from a reasonable quality audience recording and represents the complete show. It can be found on the CDR "WESTBURY MUSIC FAIR" or CD "THE GREATEST PERFORMANCE" (PAR). This is an extraordinary performance, similar in scope to the 5/2/75 gig at The Main Point. Amazingly it was not even close to a sellout. Westbury was a revolving stage performance (as were both 1974 Phoenix gigs). To accentuate the atmosphere Bruce ordered Mike Appel to install a functioning Ferris Wheel on stage as an effect prop - the plan was scrapped only at the last moment, after Appel told Bruce that the cost was going to be more than their performance fee. A BRUCEBASE reader who attended comments: "the stage would turn once to the right and then back all the way to the left. Sitting in the back you had to wait for Bruce to come around again. During the encores the stage stopped - that's why you can hear people yelling 'turn the stage' near the end of the show". | |||||
