I got a good spot, not quite as central as I would have liked, but that would have put me in the middle of the talkers and drinkers. I got right at the front of the second tier which put me above the main bulk of the crowd (and a good turn out it was too) so there was nothing between me and sound. The couples on either side of me yakked a bit but mainly during the quieter in between song bits so nothing too bad. As my battery box has failed, I thought I'd try the 'plug in power' facility on the Zoom for the first support band and I was surprised how well it worked so stuck with that for both Earthless and then Russian Circles. I'd set the recording level at 90 as I was quite close to the left stack but it still came out a bit low so I boosted the volume a little- at least now I know I can leave it at 100 with these mics and get a clean recording.
