Notes: QUICKSILVER MESSENGER SERVICE W / HORNS 10/04/70 Winterland Arena - San Francisco, Ca 1-Fresh Air 2-Baby Baby 3-Subway 4-What About Me 5-The Truth 6-Call On Me 7-Seminole Nation > Jam* ( different quality )( could be from 10/5/70 ) this was a 'triad' concert with the grateful dead, the jefferson airplane and quicksilver messenger service.hot tuna and the nrps were announced but it's unclear if they performed.quicksilver are not on the handbill and may have been a last minute addition in the absence of the others.this is the best copy to date i've heard.there has been some discussion regarding seminole nation as the person who mastered this copy left his machine recording as long as music was being played and that song was not on his master.quicksilver closed the show on this night. it's also historic as the night janis joplin died.some people believe seminole nation could be from the following night's concert.this set is unique as it's the only circlulating show with a horn section.these were also John Cipollina's last official shows with the band.he sat in on 12/31/70 for the new year's eve show at the kabuki theater in s.f. and not again until 1975's short lived reunion. fm master reel > audio cd > eac > shn ( except for track 7,lineage unknown )
