Notes: The Village Vanguard recordings are a set of 22 tunes which were played at Village Vanguard, New York City, USA on 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th November 1961. The setlists on here seem to be screwed up rather as all the dates are overlapping each other on each cd by one or two tunes. There are 7 tunes (india, chasin the trane, impressions, spiritual, miles mode, naima, brasilia) recorded on 1st November 1961. These are on tracks 1-6 of disc 11/01/1961 and track 1 of disc 11/2/1961. There are 7 tunes (chasin the trane, india, spiritual, softly as in morning sunrise, chasin the trane, greensleeves, impressions) recorded on 2nd November 1961. These are on tracks 2-5 of disc 11/02/1961 and tracks 1-3 of disc 11/03/1961. There are 6 tunes (spiritual, naima, impressions, india, greensleeves, miles mode) recorded on 3rd November 1961. These are on tracks 4-6 of disc 11/03/1961 and tracks 1-3 of disc 11/05/1961. There are 2 tunes (india, spiritual) recorded on 5th November 1961. These are on tracks 4-5 of disc 11/05/1961. If you refer to my tapetrader site (www.tapetrader.com/members/nch103) this has all the setlists and dates spelt out as per each disc i have.
