Comment
Many of the tracks on this demo seem to be the same versions as on the "Rutabaga" demo, which in turn match up with the three demo tacks on the '94 radio sampler entitled "Dave Matthews Band." On the sampler, the band lists the tracks as being from a '91 Quad Studios demo. This leads me to believe that much of the "Rutabaga" demo is actually from these Quad sessions. The last several tracks on this disc seem to be filler from other studio sessions.

The recording level from the tape was a bit high, causing some mild distortion at the loudest points of the music. If anyone has a cleaner copy for conversion, please let me know.

Note: Exact date is not know (12.??.91)

Recorded and mixed by Bruce Miller, this is most likely Dave's original demo tape, although no proof of that is given. Well known as "Rutebega Studios" and even assigned a date, the only thing known about this tape is that it was most likely recorded over a period of weeks in 1991. The myth of "Rutebega Studios" has been proven wrong by nancies.org's famed "Waldo" and the early Dave Matthews Band Promo (given out to radio stations and fans).

Notes: decent quality DAO show. This setlist ends at Nancies, however my copy contains 4 more songs past that. I have checked setlists on the official DMB site, the WH, antsmarching & nancies and have not been able to find a setlist for this show other than the one posted here on etree. Track 12 - Ants Track 13- WH Track 14 - Recently Track 15 - Minarets All tracks past Nancies do sound like they are just dave solo with the exception of Recently. This sounds like it has an orchestra backing and I'm not sure where these additional tracks came from.

Notes: NOT 12/01/91 - Most likely recorded over a span of unkown weeks in 1991. Known as "Rutebega Studios" which is a myth, everything but the date are correct. See "comment" for further proof.
