Notes: GENESIS - LIVE IN SARATOGA SPRINGS (GEN820826TM) Recorded live at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Springs, NY, 26th August 1982, directly from the soundboard. Cassette tape transfer, Cedar Cambridge restoration, mastering and artwork by tom 2007. Audio source provided by David Dunnington. Band photos and ticket stub courtesy of genesis-movement.org Special thanks to: Alessandro Vasserot, Steve Sussman, David Dunnington, Willem Beens. A TM Production. Trade freely - never buy or sell! Don't convert to lossy formats (mp3, wma...) unless for strict personal use! Tracklisting: 1. ABACAB 8:48 2. The story of Romeo and Juliet 3:12 3. SUPPER'S READY 24:41 4. MISUNDERSTANDING 4:04 5. MAN ON THE CORNER 4:36 6. WHO DUNNIT? 3:25 7. TURN IT ON AGAIN 5:22 8. DRUM DUET 2:03 9. LOS ENDOS 6:01 10. THE LAMB LIES DOWN ON BROADWAY/ WATCHER OF THE SKIES (instrumental excerpt) 10:02 11. I KNOW WHAT I LIKE (IN YOUR WARDROBE) 6:52 Total time: 80:00 The source of this remaster were the same 24 bit transfer master files that were used for GASP 008, carefully restored with CEDAR Cambridge V4 (NR5 noise reduction, phase correction, de-buzz, auto-balance) and Adobe Audition 1.5 (Single click removal tool). Mixed with Magix Sequoia 9.22, mastered with Adobe Audition 1.5 by using several plug-ins (no Waves). From the liner notes by David Dunnington: "On all tours since Foxtrot, large portions of the live set have been well documented by official releases and radio broadcasts. With the single exception of this 1982 "Encore" tour, inexplicably and universally ignored by the record label and by US and European broadcasting companies alike. In the absence of a full professional recording, a good clear engineer's tape from the soundboard is the best that can be managed: what makes this bootleg from the show in Saratoga Springs, NY so important is its status as the unique soundboard recording (accessible to collectors) from the Encore tour. A careful fresh transfer of the best known tape of this show was recently completed by TM Productions on behalf of the GASP project. Unfortunately the recording is of indeterminate generation and not in great shape, being saturated with volume distortion in greater or lesser degrees throughout. Some portions, notably the first few songs, suffer to the point of being unsalvageable. Here is presented a one disc compilation of highlights comprising those sections of the show amenable to quality restoration." ___________________________________________ This release is brought to you as a single FLAC-file combined with a standard Cue-file in three different versions: GEN820826TM-flac.cue (for burning apps that accept flac-files, like Nero) GEN820826TM-wav.cue (for burning apps that don't accept flac, like EAC. The flac file must be decoded to wav first) GEN820826TM-bin.cue (for burning apps that require .bin format images - in that case, decode the flac file to wav, then rename it to .bin) Audio and cue files must be always in the same folder! Instructions Nero: 1. start Nero (not the wizard!) and choose "open" from the file menu 2. choose the GEN820826TM-flac.cue-file from the "file open" dialogue window 3. insert a blank CD, switch to 8x speed and press the "burn" button EAC: 1. decode the flac-file to wav 2. start EAC and choose "Write CD-R" from the "Tools" menu. 3. choose "File" > "Load CUE-sheet" from the following "CD-Layout Editor" window, then open the GEN820826TM-wav.cue-file. 4. insert a blank CD and choose "Write CD-R" ("CD-R" menu). 8x speed is recommended here as well.
