Sony HFC C60 Cassette > Technics RS-B705 Cassette Player > Pioneer DJM-300-S Mixer > Magix Audio... |
Notes: |
These tracks are from a double cassette I bought at a record fayre in the late 1980's. I have reduced some of the hiss although there is still some and I
tidied up a couple of the joins between songs where the cassettes turned over.
The overall sound of this concert is of a similar quality to the Some Kinda Love (Mile End) concert that I posted yesterday. Unlike that concert this Leicester University gig
doesn't have any Transformer tracks although he had recorded the album in August. At this stage Lou is still promoting tracks from his first LP which had been released in June. |

Notes from dimeadozen.org: A couple of weeks into their UK tour, ostensibly to promote the as-yet unreleased "Transformer", Lou and the Tots play at Leicester University. The set list has evolved a little since the tour began, but there are still no "Transformer" tunes (he?s surprised when someone calls out for "Walk On The Wild Side"). One of the best (if not THE best) shows of the 1972 tour - a truly outstanding selection of songs and inspired performances from the whole band. "I'll Be Your Mirror" and "Who Loves The Sun?" make rare appearances, there's an achingly tender solo version of "Candy Says", a nice loose version of "Sister Ray", and possibly the earliest known "solo" live rendition of "Lisa Says". And Lou has a few words of introduction for most of them.
