The 1964 tour is well documented on legitimate & bootleg releases. This one includes the afternoon rehearsal-listen to disc 1 track 2 for some chatter between Mingus and Dolphy. As with all concerts from this era, there was no soundboard & multi-tracking, so the recordings came from onstage microphones, which is how this came into being probably for a radio broadcast. We can thank the Swedish for broadcasting a lot of music which eventually was preserved for our listening pleasure many years later! | |||||
