Notes: Distant. The recording isnt overloaded, but its rather distant. Plant once again has managed to be at the back of the mix, but he is audible on most occasions. Neat for a spin or three (especially GTBT->CB) if you can tollerate the distance. The lineage has been verified.

Notes: " Hear Me Talking To You", Gusto. Master>2nd Gen>DAT>CDR>CDR>EAC>FLAC Frontend Perhaps it is possible to get a copy of the master of this show, but for all intents and purposes, this is the best source you're going to find. This is also the complete version of this tape - incomplete versions have been released on various bootlegs over the years. Sound quality is quite good for an audience tape of this era. The instruments are well-balanced and distinct, and there isn't very much audience noise. To my ears, this show benefits greatly from some rather drastic EQing (I really crank the mids up, the low frequencies down, and give the highs a boost when I listen at home), but as always, I have left the show exactly as I received it, so you can flavor to taste. The performance is energetic, with Plant's voice raw and huge and Page's fingers flying. This is from the period before the second album had come out, but after most of it had been recorded, so the setlist has evolved from the winter and spring '69 shows. Of particular note is Plant's adlib during ICQY, in which he directs his ire at a rowdy fan who apparently threw a bottle onto the stage. "If you think you're really very smart/why don't come up here and do that thing again." Judging from photos, Plant weighed about 130 lbs at the time, so I'm not sure what he would have done had the bottle-tosser made his way to the stage.
