Roy Martin\'s Music Collection (5/5) FLAC / 0 View   Genuine Masters source (SS067)
Notes: Led Zeppelin -Bonzo's Birthday Party- SB only (Genuine Masters). Inglewood Forum Los Angeles CA-5/31/73 Soundboard source only except for the first few beats of R&R and some patches. This is from my Genuine Masters cdrs. I know this legendary show has been nearly posted to death but I think GM did the best SB version out there. It sounds fuller and richer than WT and Celebration and isn't over EQ'd. Unfortunately they didn't speed correct the excellent audience source. Dadgad's gets my vote for best audience of this gig. Plant introduces D & C as a "far out, heavy trip" and it is!! Jimmy is at his most soulful on SIBLY. Plant also does a lot of funny razzing of Bonzo due to the occasion. I love this gig, it has a very nice vibe! Lineage: Genuine Masters CDrs>EAC test and copy>WAV>FLAC frontend encode level 6,test>Flacs
Roy Martin\'s Music Collection (5/5) FLAC / 0 View   Mix of various sources (H084)
Notes: lineage: trader cdrs > EAC test and copy secure mode > WAV > Flacfrontend encode level 8 and test; Info file says< "I want to acknowledge and thank Willie C. who gave me these cdrs and gave the following lineage: Complete masterful combination of 1stGen > DAT Source #1 (aka TMOQ) + 1stGen > DAT Source #2 (aka ARMS) + Source #3 (aka Cobla’s) Moby Dick to play complete, purists beware parametric EQ applied, not an archive of the masters... What I can say without a doubt is that this is my favorite version of this legendary performance. To me this is the definitive version of the audience recordings. The EQ job was very tastefully done, bringing out the best in all the audience sources used. These have always been very good to excellent sources but this surpasses all silver versions I've heard. The sound is just huge, really atmospheric and ballsy, with great clarity and detail."

Notes: lineage: Complete masterful combination of 1stGen>DAT Source#1 (aka TMOQ) + 1stGen>DAT Source#2 (aka ARMS) + Source#3 (aka Cobla’s) Moby Dick to play complete, purists beware parametric EQ applied, not an archive of the masters. According to bootledz however, ARMS is "source 1" and "Cobra is source 2" . Bootledz also lists "source 3" as being the one Flying Disc used which is incomplete, starting during Over the Hills. That would seem to be the TMOQ source. If anyone out there can clarify the question about these sources please feel free. The sound is just huge, really atmospheric and ballsy, with great clarity and detail . The biggest joy though for me is hearing Moby Dick in it's entirety for the first time. I always thought is strange that no one ever put together a combination of sources to make MD complete, especially since it was the "gentleman's birthday"! Every version I've heard has annoying cuts/splices and doesn't do this solo justice. It really was an outstanding solo too, filled with creative fire and played with gusto, no meandering, he just played his ass off. I think it's his best solo of the tour. There must have been a lot of inspiration in the Forum that night of his 25th Bday. I don't know who did this blend of sources but my hat goes off to them for a great job indeed. I sincerely hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
