Notes:
1. Known lineage and transfer from DAT, no EAC step.
2. Most circulating copies have digital noize about
a minute into Bertha, this seed is clean.
3. Some circulating copies are plagued with static
from Truckin' on, this seed is clean.
4. Consistent with other copies, Casey Jones has a
skip about 4 minutes in.
5. China Cat->IKYR, Tennessee Jed, and Jack Straw are
patched in from the Europe '72 CD. If you don't own it,

01/31/2004 Joe Samaritano I should mention that there are some minor pops on this. They can probably be removed with a pencil tool, but I left them alone because they aren't that bothersome, IMO. Please clean-up and re-seed if you disagree.

I have another set of DATs that I've had for years that came to me with the provenance of MR->PCM, 44.1. I did a very brief comparison (my ear) to the source I seeded and chose this one. I'd be more than happy to send my DATs to someone who wants to do a side by side analysis using software.
02/02/2004 Brian I've noticed that the instrument channels (or tracks) change periodically during many of the songs, most notably on disc 3. Was wondering if someone (Joe) could explain the why and wherefore. thanks -b
02/02/2004 Joe Samaritano I have no idea, that's how it came to me.
02/03/2004 Lewis/Klitschko That's not uncommon. I believe a lot of '73 shows, for example have Jerry's guitar floating in all directions. '74 has a more or less set tracking for the instruments, pre-October, anyway.
02/11/2004 Lewis/Klitschko I read a rave about this version. Curious if others feel this is the best source.
02/11/2004 Dav Winters A well known trader commented he thought the levels flucuated in various spots during this version. He did not say exactly where or how often. Anyone else hear that?

02/11/2004 Joe Samaritano I travel 3 weeks per month for my job. I barely have time to seed shows, but I do because I want to contribute. To me, these anomolies are very minor and do not interfere with me enjoying the show. If they are bothersome to some, I apologize.

"All I can say is 'goddamn!' Other versions of this show have circulated
for some time. If you already have it from other sources you may want to
check this one out. The first set is smoking. Typical europe 72 stuff but
it kills. Pigpen steals the show w/ a balls out Good Lovin'. Get this
show. And I know a lot of you will download a show and neglect listening
to it right away, do yourself a favor and check this one out immeadiatly.

12/04/2004 Joe Samaritano Turns out that something went haywire during the transfer which caused the channels to fly all over the place. I discovered this by listening to the source Dat at home and realized that the channels were fine. I am going to re-do this and want to get some consensus about whether I should seed it or not, because there is another source out there that is decent.
12/04/2004 waterface How about without the Studio/tweeked versions from Yurp 72 patched. I'd like to here what they played that night as opposed to how they sweetened it in the studio

12/07/2004 Deadhead Dave, I believe you are correct - IIRC either Dick Latvala or David Gans once commented on how the songs used on E72 were physically cut from the master reels of their respective shows.
