Folks in the know are still sorting out which is the "definitive" shn set, copy a or b. Between multiple versions (not necessarily all noted here), some digisnits were fixed, and some track boundaries may have been fixed-
but presently we're not sure which is what. Update to follow.
|02/28/2001||Diana Hamilton||I believe this is the final word on copies a and b for this entry: both have "digisnits" fixed courtesy Darrin Sacks, as outlined in info file. Copy b does not have the sector boundaries adjusted subsequent to the digital work. Copy a does have the sector boundaries correctly postioned, courtesy Jeff Kempka, and should be regarded as the definitive copy. The b md5s are left here for reference purposes..|

OK, I received the "B" version of this. I saw the SBEs on d2t02, d2t03 and verified that running 'shntool fix -s b' on the d2 tracks, then converting to SHN without seek tables, yields the "A" checksums for d2. So that's how to convert "B" to "A" for d2.
The "B" version of d1 has no SBEs, however, and while d1t01 has the same checksum for both "A" and "B", the checksums for all other d1 tracks differ. So for d1, the difference between the "A" and "B" versions appears to be something other than SBE repair. I'm curious to know what that difference is...
