notes:
Deadlists.com lists Around And Around to open set two. However
not only was it not present on this aud master (Jeff Siniawsky feels
that if it were played, they would have recorded it), it is not on
the circulating SBDMR either. A copy of the song does circulate
allegedly from this date, and I included it on the complete SBD
version (2000). It came listed as an AUD source, and the only song
from this particular source (i.e. none of the rest of the show seems
to exist from this recording source), but upon more scrutiny it appears
to be a SBD, not an AUD. Also, it oddly seems to show evidence of Dickey
Betts playing with the band, which has yet to be confirmed and makes
little sense in the scheme of the show. A few other attendees have
also agreed that the song was not played on this date.
In the original version of the Watkins Glen 25th Anniversary Tree, the
main recording came from Bill Degen's master. He was friends with
Jeff and Joel and they all taped shows and shared tapes during these
years. On the tapes that Bill supplied for that first tree, Jeff and
Joel's recording of set one was included (Row Jimmy and Playin'
were used for the tree), while Bill's own tape supplied set two. Now
we have the complete Uher recording direct from Jeff Siniawsky and Joel
Smith. It provides a very nice upgrade to the first treed AUD back in 1998.
