> DVD audio extraction technically this isn't correct. this is an extraction of an "audio DVD" which is basically an uprendered version of a 16/44 source made with audio DVD creator. so this version has 2 gens of DAE and an uprendering and downrendering with associated dithering. because the original files are 16/44.1, the frequency response on this version is no better than the original source. this is entirely analogous to taking an mp3 and uprendering it to 16/44 WAV. you can't make new frequencies where there were none to begin with. DVD-Audio is a specific high def format which requires different software for burning and only playable on specific DVD players with the "DVD-Audio" logon on it. commercial DVD-Audio discs include both DVD-A versions as well as a DVD-V soundtrack so that it is universally playable. however if your DVD player doesn't specifically say "DVD-A" on it, you are not hearing the true hi-def format. |
