- The Hamza set was not included with this source and has not been spliced in.
- All tape pauses between tracks were cross faded.
- There are few glitches and dropouts present throughout.
- Right after Iko Iko, the left channel dropped down to darn near nothing. Rather than splice in the soundboard, I was able to lift the RMS and save it up to mid drums, from this point on, there was not only the severe drop in the left channel level, but some real heavy distortion became present. Left with the options to either splice in the soundboard or make a mono patch from the right channel, I opted to make the mono patch and preserve the source as best as I could. You can certainly hear the change. Overall, all things considered, this is a very nice source, my favorite show of the Egypt run.
- Some slight bass distortion and minor clicks present in the mono patch.
- This source is also subject to what some call hiss, I prefer analog warmth. Call it what you will :-)
- Ok, here is the story. Last week or so I was contacted by a fellow LL'er named moon. He Pm'ed me and asked if he could seed some new sources for the 9/14/15/16/1978 shows. This really sparked my curiosity. The files were transferred to my server to have a listen and look. After listening myself, and asking other respected members of the communities opinion, we came to the conclusion these are new sources, I decided to have a go at just putting a little polish on them, very little was done aside from the above listed patches and a gain bump since the files were provided at 16/44.1. The taper did all the transfer work and passed this along anonymously, which he wishes to remain and I will respect. The first set of this show was taped on mic stands. After the first set, the taper was asked to take them down, so he impromptu began to stealth record the show, thus explaining the sonic changes, and the lack of wind noise after the set break. Just as a disclaimer here, I'm in no way shape or form declaring this an upgrade, just an additional source these deserve to circulate and I am happy to get this tapers work out there. Take what you want and leave the rest.
- Thanks to the anonymous taper, bagsgroove, and moon for helping get this to me and relaying information.

Audio Patches:
1) At the beginning of soundboard, 1 minute and 58.369 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
2) Between Good Lovin' and Candyman, 14.182 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
3) Between Candyman and Looks Like Rain, 1 minute and 26.255 seconds were missing from the AUD1 source and was filled in with audio from the SBD source.
4) Between Looks Like Rain and Row Jimmy, 1 minute and 14.401 seconds were missing from the AUD1 source and was filled in with audio from the SBD source.
5) Between Row Jimmy and El Paso, 1 minute and 50.919 seconds were missing from the AUD1 source and was filled in with audio from the SBD source.
6) Between El Paso and Ramble On Rose, 39.816 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
7) Between Ramble On Rose and New Minglewood Blues, 28.129 seconds were missing from the AUD1 source and was filled in with audio from the SBD source.
8) Between New Minglewood Blues and Deal, 23.174 seconds were missing from the AUD1 source and was filled in with audio from the SBD source.
9) The Hamza set was not included with the AUD1 source and has not been spliced in even though 16 minutes of it was included on the SBD.
10) During the transition for Fire On The Mountain and Iko-Iko, 19.111 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
11) Between Sunrise and Shakedown Street, 2 minutes and 22.127 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
12) Close to the start of Space, 31.397 seconds were missing from both AUD1 and AUD2 sources and was filled in with audio from the SBD source. At the end of this patch, the rest of the AUD1 source was in mono as bgreen explained above. AUD2 was used to replace the left channel for the rest of space till end of Around and Around. The encore (OMSN) remained in mono as no patch material was supplied for that portion of the show.
13) Between Around and Around and One More Saturday Night, 1 minutes and 04.532 seconds were missing from the SBD source and was filled in with audio from the AUD1 source.
14) Set 1 and 2 of AUD1 ran about 1% fast compared to the Soundboard (1 seconds fast per minute). AUD2 was much faster and ran about 4% fast compared to the Soundboard (4 seconds fast per minutes).
15) Also because of the beautiful bass response from the matrix, I tried something new and used a mixed to mono track of the matrix for both the center channel and subwoofer.
Thanks again to Charlie Miller for supplying the uncirculated patch material (AUD2) and Brion Green for transfering and making available for this project.

More On DTS
Today's audio standards are moving towards multi-channel
sound, like DTS and Dolby Digital. While the Audio-CD
standard (Red Book) hasn't changed to accommodate these
new sound formats, it is still possible to go around the
specification and to put a 5.1 surround recording on a
regular Audio-CD. To play a DTS-Audio-CD you must connect
your DVD/CD player via a digital cable (optical or coaxial)
to your DTS Dolby-Digital receiver. It is not 100% sure
that your receiver will recognize a DTS-Audio CD, so the
first time you're trying to playback a DTS-Audio-CD you
must do a test to determine if it can. Begin with the
volume very low, start the disc and raise the volume
gradually. NEVER listen to a DTS-Audio-CD through the
analog audio outputs of your CD/DVD player.
Burning Instructions
Burn them the absolute same way as you would burn any
normal Audio-CD from FLAC files.
