| Notes: | Lineage: Source #1 - BBC Transcription Disc > Sony RMR D100 > Sony Sony D8 DAT > Sony RMR D100 > Wav > CD > EAC > FLAC FrontEnd. Complete but less stereo-sounding than source #2. Source #2 - Westwood One "Superstars of Rock" #92-28 (1992) transcription disc (commercials cut out) > Dat. Nice stereo mix but very cut up (missing 1 song and John Peel's comments). Also has crowd noise over the start of some of the songs. > Macintosh with Digidesign AudioMedia III sound card > Pro Tools > AIFF files > xACT [level 8 flac files with sector boundaries verified]. No equalization or noise reduction. md5 file created with checkSUM+. Notes: The complete BBC transcription disc that recently surfaced is really good, but lacks the nice stereo mix that the Westwood One disc has. To preserve those stereo mixes, I did this new combination. The transitions between mono and stereo are not very noticeable though there were challenges in merging the sources because the Westwood One disc had more crowd noise than the unedited BBC disc. For that reason, the change from mono to stereo is a few seconds into the song in a few cases. Gradual panning was used to smooth the changes. | |||||
