Notes: This was night #3 of the legendary Fillmore West. Pretty weak. Maybe they were tired. Who knows. Set 1 begins with a good Cryptical but New Potato sounds very ragged and Phil's "bass solo" was disjointed, never found a tempo and generally directionless. It was kept short though! The remainder of the tune has the band stumbling fairly often. Rag and Charlie seemed performed too fast with a hurry to get set 1 over with. Set 2 had a clear break between the acoustic MOTM and the start of Dark Star. Argh! The 2/27/69 and Dream Bowl shows are examples of how great this pairing can be without a break. Dark Star is nice but there are better versions. Hey Jude was unrehersed and it really shows.
