Source: Aud-> B&K 4011 -> Oade Power Supply -> Prolink Cables -> Panasonic SV-255; mics at 110 degrees ORTF on Schoeps t-bar hand held at about 5' 10" 2nd person behind the "drink rail", center. New transfer June, 2015: Playback on Tascam DA20 -> Roland SRC-2 -> Mac Mini -> Audacity 2.1 -> WAV. Droncit lowered audience noise between songs and occasional clapping. Some minor mic adjustment noise lowered. Slight equalization to account for distance from the stacks, light de-essing to counter the sibilance from the mics, then gain normalized using Diamond Cut Forensics 8.5, July, 2015.

Notes: shot by justin kreutzman on stage during the set up and sound check for 90 minutes or so... the 02-02-91 soundcheck was shot from on the stage by justin kreutzman. It is the full soundcheck from empty stage , to set up , to rehearslas. It starts with an audio feed from just the mic on the camera and eventually once the sbd gets set up he gets a sbd audio feed from the monitor board great frickin shit!!! Candid private stuff... Sort of a synthesis of our two styles. The Dead and the Dawg styles. This is called 'Grateful Dawg'.....or 'Dawgful Dead'." Although "Grateful Dawg" and "The Thrill Is Gone" were played on 12/17/1990, according to "The Jerry Site" at: http://www.thejerrysite.com/Performance.do?action=id&id=1172 you can hear them both being still created and formed during these "rehearsals/souncheck" on these 2/2/1991 DVDs. Outtakes are usually not released commercially simply because they usually contain cut or edited material that were not considered fit for commercial release. This material on these "rehearsals/souncheck" DVDs & soon to follow "Grateful Dead Home Movies 1986-1989" DVDs are IMHO pretty darn good. Sort of a synthesis of our two styles. The Dead and the Dawg styles. This is called 'Grateful Dawg'.....or 'Dawgful Dead'." According to The Jerry Site "Grateful Dawg" and "The Thrill Is Gone" were played on 12/17/1990. You can hear them both being still created and formed during these "rehearsals/souncheck" on the 2/2/1991!!! One of many reviews for the commercial release of "Grateful Dawg": Jerry Garcia (nicknamed "Spud" or "Spudboy" by Grisman/Peter Rowan while in "Old And In The Way" band) was famous as the visionary behind the Grateful Dead, but his musical tastes were broad, and he found a rewarding partnership with mandolinist David Grisman, whose distinctive "Dawg" style fused jazz with bluegrass.
