Notes: I got a request to reseed the YYY's Lamacq session, but I'm taking it a step further. I made a new torrent with all 3 radio sessions from 2002 that I have on this disc that I got in trade. The CD was recorded TAO (gaah!) so I extracted tracks 1-15 with Adaptec and checked the "remove digital silence at end of track" box. The transition between tracks, while not completely seamless, has been vastly improved and all 2-second gaps have been removed. For tracks 16-19 (the Peel Session) I decided to leave the extra couple seconds of silence because whoever edited the session cut out EVERYTHING between songs, and even cut off the very end of the songs as the last notes were fading out. Without a little space in-between, you'd have one song ending and then another start all of a sudden which I found to be quite jarring, better to have a brief moment of demarcation. There is some background hiss/hum characteristic of FM feeds, but you won't mind. The WFMU set is what turned me on to the YYYs in the first place. Blistering performance by the band just as they were building a local buzz, this is a year before 'Fever To Tell' would see the light of day so we get a YYY performance eager to please and determined to pulverize. Added fun comes from the most enthusiastic DJ I've ever heard: "Jesus, that was so amazing!!!" Before anybody criticizes with a they're-not-punk comment, I suggest you give this a listen first :) Yeah Yeah Yeahs WFMU-FM (Terre T's Cherry Blossom Clinic) Jersey City, NJ 2002-02-22 =============== 1.
