The Review: Well, I had not seen Tool since Coachella and it was time to see them again. This time my wife went along, and I have to say that overall it was not a bad experience. The crowd was full of energy
and 3.2 beer. A fight broke out (which you can hear people cheering about right before the show starts) which was very uncool, but people that go to Tool shows for the most part suck. The light show starting
at WFM/10KD was a little over the top, even my wife agrees. The show itself was very tight and Maynard seemed to be reasonably into things. Danny was completely on fire and the crowd loved him for it. After
Lateralus started in, you could tell that this was going to be the last song, it was really a solid ending to the show. It would have been nice to hear two more songs, which would have taken the show to a nice
two hour mark, but oh well. We also got to meet up with 4intool(Chris) a fellow taper and a member of the Tool Drive Project, very cool indeed, and I am sure his source is going to kick ass as well!
The Recording: I am happy with it, and I hope you are as well. I boosted the volume after the first few songs, but I doubt you can tell the difference after the mastering. There is definitely some crowd noise
and I was worried that the stupid frat boys to the right of us (who got booted from the position by the rightful owner of the tickets for those seats at intermission) would show up on the recording trying to buy
weed about 20 times from the drug dealer one row down from us, but I do not think you can hear it. So enjoy!
