Notes: C.U Vine TOOL Lowlands Festival @ Biddinghuizen, Netherlands August 19th 2007 Jambi Stinkfist Forty Six & 2 Schism Rosetta Stoned Flood Lateralus (w/ Phil Campbell of Motorhead) Vicarious DVD: 4,09 GB Video: PAL (25 FPS), 720x576 (anamorph/non letterboxed; best viewed on 16:9 displays) Audio: 192 kBit/sec 2.0 AC3 Gear: Canon MV930 (16:9 PAL Camcorder; 25x Zoom; no microphones or zoom lenses) Very unique recording. Sure collector's only, content-wise. The taper was sitting on a grass hill outside the tent where Tool played, far far left from the stage. He filmed from the outside in - mostly with the 25x zoom. That means there are always stanchions of the tent in the way and people walking through. Danny is not visable at all, nor are most of the video screens, nor is the laser show. Funny how the other band members wait until Danny finishes his solos. Adam is on the left, the taper focuses on Justin most of the time, behind him is Maynard. The guest solo during Lateralus is captured. So what makes this unique is the perspective of Justin. Video quality is OK, but as I said you can't see much. The picture is far from being crisp, there's a lot of noise, but at least it's not drowned in black. The audio is better, not very detailed, but absolutely enjoyable (no custom mics used). During more calm pieces you can hear the music from other stages. No annoying people around the taper. I contacted the taper on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh , he transfered the DVD to me. He wants to stay anonymous, he honestly doesn't care who claims credit for the DVD. We have a menu with song selection, but the songs are titles, not chapters. So, if you select a song, watch it, it jumps back to the menu. If you watch all titles/songs as a stream, you can not jump chapter-wise (because there are no chapters). Weird The material is cut heavily - Vicarious is cut at the last note, all clapping between songs is cut, too. Must be the shortest DVD of a full Tool show ever.

Notes: Interesting performace and recording. Standard short festival setlist, but guest on Lateralus. The filmer stood outside the tent, so the view is always blocked. Danny is not visible at all. But thanks to that we get a recording with Justin and Adam mostly. The video is what you can expect today, but the audio is very enjoyable. During song breaks you can hear the sound from a different stage. Made contact with the taper on Youtube. Clapping between songs is cut. He hastily put the DVD together. There is a little mistake: the songs are titles, not chapters.
