Jerry Garcia interviewed by Nina Blackwood of MTV
MTV Studios, New York City, USA
unedited pre-broadcast copy
After two other Jerry Garcia interviews were recently seeded, I thought I'd pull this one out and see how it compared. It's more structured than the earlier interviews done by Deadheads, but the questions and answers are still good and the bonus of having it on video is terrific. Of course, unlike the other interviews, the MTV format did not allow for drugs to be consumed during the questioning...
I don't know how much this content has previously circulated. It's the first transfer from my unknown lineage Super Beta Hi-Fi tape. Decent video and audio quality, though the video signal is a bit fuzzy looking and fluctuates in a few spots.
I find it quite enjoyable to watch and certainly good enough quality for an interview video. Check the samples to get an idea for yourself.
