Notes: This copy is obviously sourced from a VHS tape that has aged a bit, so the sound isn't a crisp as it could be. There is also a bit of analog presence. However, this show is still highly recommended. The Improv before Porch is more like a full-on song, and it's awesome; worth the show by itself. Also, Once is extended with a nice little jam in the middle that I've never heard them do at any other show. Great performance, but hopefully I'll locate a lower gen dub someday.

Review from 5H Concert Video Guide: Notes: Straight-ahead view of the stage and good closeups, although the picture is a bit shaky. The camera pans a lot to give us good shots of Mike, Jeff, and Stone. It stays zoomed in the whole time though, so we rarely see more than two band members at once. With such a narrow focus it makes you wonder if you're missing part of the action on stage sometimes. Eddie's wearing a white Who T-shirt with the isolation symbol on it. (For the ininitiated, that's the red and blue target.) After Whipping Stone says, "We're just getting warmed up right now," as we hear Mike strumming a piece of Hendrix's Little Wing in the background. Eddie says, "So how many old friends have I got out there?" (He lived in San Diego before moving to Seattle to join the band.) Most of the crowd cheers of course. "I just know I didn't know that many people... Actually, you know... there's people coming up and they say, 'Heeyyyyyy Eddie. Remember me from this/that... remember me from uhh... high school?' Hey man I've smoked a lot of pot since then -- I don't know who the fuck you are!" After a short pause to reconsider what he just said: "Actually it was in high school -- that's when I smoked. I quit, then I became successful. I would suggest it to everybody." Musically this wasn't as good a show as San Jose (10/30/93) but the cool improv and a decent version of The Kids Are Alright by Eddie make this show worth seeking out.
