This was acquired along with other various broadcasts from the Philly area into the archives from the same taper who recorded these off the radio circa 72-75. This was recorded as it was broadcast live on WMMR and completely commercial free with the only cut between Song For Adam and Cocaine due to a reel flip/change. Apparently WMMR thought the show was over after Runaway and the DJ did his outro comments and the station cut out to their regularly scheduled broadcast missing the final encore. The encore was broadcast on a simulcast/rebroadcast of this show and is included here from another tape source. The sound on this is excellent and Lindley's guitar work this night is absolutely sublime. This show was part of a six night benefit concert. The broadcast either due to the recording or receiver had a high pitched whine noise in it. This copy has been mastered to remove the whine out of the audio and the same whine was also present on the other audio source for the encore. That was also mastered the same way. This an absolutely essential must have show if you like Jackson Browne in the slightest.

Notes: ****************************************************************************************** Mike's note - the track listing below seems a little bit off toward the end of the show . I think it should be : 29 werewolves of london 30 'talkin bout shaft 31 late for the sky 32 for a dancer 33 doctor my eyes 34 hasten down the wind 35 these days 36 before the deluge 37 tuning & sit down snippet 38 do you wanna dance 39 run boy run 40 redneck friend 41 sweet little sixteen 42 pipeline 43 runaway 44 your bright baby blues ************************************************ JACKSON BROWNE and DAVID LINDLEY Live at the Main Point Bryn Mawr, PA September 7, 1975 Live at the Main Point has long been considered a "classic" concert performance and treasured by most JB and DL fans for a variety of reasons. It was broadcast in stereo live on WMMR of Philadelphia and likely recorded by more than a few fans yet over the years not a single quality recording of the complete show has ever surfaced. For quite some time I had a low quality copy of the performance. Then, about 4 years ago, a much-better-sounding version of the show appeared. The sound was reasonably good and recorded in stereo. I had no idea this was not the complete show until about 2 years ago when a much more complete version appeared --a version which included David Lindley's solo act in the middle of the show as well as the final encore of Your Bright Baby Blues. Unfortunately the quality of this recording was a step backward--much weaker sound and no stereo. There is no way to tell if it is actually the "complete" show either as at the end of the recording a WMMR announcer comes on and says there it was --Jackson Browne and David Lindley live for more than 3 hours, while the recording itself is a little bit over 2 hours and 42 minutes. Was there an intermission? Maybe someone who was there can tell us, but with the occasional cuts between songs there is no way of knowing if anything important is still not included. Anyway, following the upload of For Everyfan Rides Again, several individuals requested over the last few months that I make the Live at the Main Point show available, but with a computer breakdown and a busy schedule I have been unable to do so until now. I have tried to present the best version possible at this time by taking the best sounding show with its stereo sound and combining it with the tracks it is missing from the "complete" version. I'll let you judge the results for yourself and would appreciate your feedback once you have listened to it. I think it has turned out pretty well. I have not listed the tracks by disc. The recording offers several different ways of being divided into 3 discs. Personally, I have divided the show so that Jackson's introduction of David's solo act (track 14) starts the second disc. My third disc begins with Werewolves of London (Track 29) Disc 1--Tracks 01-13 Disc 2--Tracks 14-28 Disc 3--Tracks 29-44 However, the tracks can be separated onto 3 discs in any other number of ways that you might like better. Anyway, I hope you enjoy the show. 01. Come All Ye Fair and Tender Ladies 02. Take It Easy 03. Introduction to... 04. Your Sweet and Shiny Eyes 05. Introduction to... 06. Long Distance Love 07. Your Bright Baby Blues Lineage: From 2 different versions recorded on cdr acquired in trade. All tracks were extracted from the discs and normalized to 98% using EAC. The majority of the tracks came from the incomplete 2-disc version of the show which I would say has basically A- sound originating from a live FM stereo broadcast on WMMR in Philadelpha. Tracks 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 37, and 44 were taken from the 3-disc version which was recorded in mono from the same radio broadcast. The volume on these tracks was increased using Audacity. In addition, these tracks as I received them were recorded at slightly too fast a speed and so they were slowed down 4%, also using Audacity. Track 8, which came from the better-sounding version, had a slight volume drop which was corrected using Audacity. Finally, about 30 seconds of tuning and a "Layla" snippet following track 24 and coming from the 3-disc version was attached to the end of track 24 using WAV Joiner. This addition was also adjusted for volume and speed using Audacity.
