Notes: This was the third time I've seen Wilco. I really don't like the new album, but this was the best of the shows I've seen (though I wish they played more from Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost is Born). The new songs were the only remotely disappointing part of the night. Great energy, performance, banter, and encore. The recording has a couple of flaws. The settings on the preamp were a bit high, so midway through "A Shot in the Arm" the recording gets quieter (but clearer) for the rest of the show. Something stopped the recording during "You are my Face" so it is in three parts with only a very small portion missing. Finally, the recording device and mics were transferred to Mr. Skindoggy during "Hummingbird" causing a bump in the mic. Overall, there's a bit of talking, but it's a solid-sounding show. I know there is another recording around already. I haven't listen to the other recording, but this is a pure form of my recording (only track-splitting, not alternation to the original files) so if someone wants to put a matrix together, please do it. This recording might benefit from a small volume boost and a bit of mixing, but the raw recording sounds fine to me. I split the discs at track 19. Please share freely and widely, but do not encode to mp3 except for personal use (share as lossless). Thanks to MPP for having GA tickets at the window 30 minutes before the show started. Big thanks to Mikey for finishing the recording for me |
