Taper's Notes:
... the tapes came out pretty good considering the poor acoustics of the Aladdin Theater and the (in our opinion) sketchy SBD mixing. The first set seemed to be mixed on the weak side for the bass/drums and over done on Melvins vocals as we recall during the show with improvements coming out during second making it sound much better. Both sets seemed "muddy" as well ....BUT the good part is that the tapes actually sound better then we both recall. I was using my hyper-cardiod capsules this time so that was a good call as they do a good job of isolating the poor room sound and crowd chatter.
