Notes: | Neumann - some wind swirliness. Crowd a bit inrusive at times, not much soundfield 3d presence, mostly monaural. Ok show, a bit above average at best. [1/24/04]

Notes: | oktava - overal good sound, though compared to some outdoor venues designed for sound there is an overall thinness, I'm guessing because it was just a big field. The show itself was solid, standard well played show. The set 1 opening jam into Crazy Fingers was good as was New Potato Caboose. Set 2 was your classic "Dead Greatest Acid Rock Hits" with Dark Star, St. Stephen, 11, TOO.

Notes: | purported sound board - see my review of the 7/6/02 board why I think this is equivalent to an aud if it isn't an aud. Sounds like it was mic'd in front of the PA's. The so-called "Spacey Jam" before TOO is good, with Barracco doing all kinds of nice synth stuff and Phil plunking down some deep bass notes. They should have expanded on this and taken it further instead of playing a tighter set. Also the jam after Again and Again developed a nice rhythmic feel to it. I liked this date more than 7/6/02 overall - seemed they played more interesting riffs. (4/2/03)
