Transfer, Edit, Synch, Author by Sundrop. ------------- 7/28/82 Red Rocks - News Broadcast & Footage: This WNEW ch5 (now WNYW) news segment features John David Klein's report from the Jack Kerouac conference in Boulder, CO. The footage includes Ken Kesey's comments about Kerouac as well as an interview with Weir and Garcia from the backstage area of Red Rocks during their 7/28/82 performance. The segment then transitions to coverage of the Grateful Dead performance and the Deadheads who are "On The Road." After the news segment, the "B-Roll" footage from the WNEW cameraman is included and features portions of Truckin' and Not Fade Away. It is obvious that the cameraman was not there to film the performance but was there to get as many "establishing" shots as possible for the news piece. Audio for the performance segment is the FOB Sennheiser 421 recording. ------------- 5/27/89 Oakland - Against Aids Commercial Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir's commercial for the In Concert Against Aids event held at Oakland Alameda County Coliseum Stadium. ------------- 7/12/89 Washington, D.C. - News Broadcast Several news segments from the "Live at Five" show, 6pm news and 11pm news WRC-TV NBC4 in Washington, DC. -1st Segment: Don Williams interviews Weir and Nadine Winter. -2nd Segment: Susan Kidd interviews Bruce Hornsby. -3rd Segment: Previous Williams segment plus Deadhead interviews. -4th Segment: Joe Johns segment with Deadheads and WDC Police Captain. Note: There are extremely brief performance shots of RFK 7/6/86 & 7/12/89 shows. ------------- 7/07/89 Philadelphia, PA - Set I partial Pro Line Feed It is suspected (but not confirmed) that a news outlet was allowed to plug in to the professional video line feed for the first few songs of this show. This suspicion is backed up by the fact that each song is missing a minute or two in the middle. Missing footage filled in with motion slideshow. Audio replaced by the Healy Mix MSC audio. 1. Notes: | Source: AKG414 FOB (probably from Dan Tepper's rig - AKG414TL > AKG B18 power supplies > Technics SV-MD1) Transfer: CDs received from Dan Lynch; extracted with Max 0.7.1 using CD paranoia setting; compressed using XACT 1.6.2 FLAC level 5; shntool, ffp and md5 by XACT 1.6.2) [2008-01-29]This is an extremely cruncy tape esp. for Phil fans and those endowed with sub-woofers. Vrey enjoyable - Hell In a Bucket starts out with some PA adjustments, and the rest of set 1 is well delivered, ending with a strong Blow Away that has a Brent rap at the end. Set 2 is how the setlist reads. There is a small bit of diginoise in one place and the disk 2->3 break has a redundant bit that could be remastered out. Highly recommended show and tape! | |||||
