Notes: |
After his last world tour, Mark Knopfler came back on stage for four charity gigs in the UK in July 2002. Three of these gigs took place at the Sheperds Bush Empire in London from July 23rd to 25th. This show has been called "Mark Knopfler And Friends". The band was made up for the first part of the show by The Notting Hillbillies: Brendan Crocker, Steve Philips, Marcus Cliffe, Bobby Valentino, Guy Fletcher and Danny Cummings. Then several Dire Straits members came on stage: John Ilsley (Bass), Chris White (Sax), Geraint Watkins (member of the 2001 tour band), and Robbie McIntosh (Paul McCartney's guitarist). Danny Cummings and Guy Fletcher also remained on stage. Jimmy Nail was invited to perform backing vocals on Mark's new song "Why Aye Man". Despite less than perfect sound this is a killer show that not many traders have. Thanks Dennis |
