show notes:
(1) It would have been nice to keep the whole 2nd set intact, but the 2nd set
is about 83 minutes, and even with the encore break edited out, it
still would have been too long for an 80 min disc.
However, there is a quiet part where I chose to break the set
between discs, and I feel that not too much continuity is lost.
(2) Any setlist help would be great. I tracked this to the best of my
ability, but it is definitely not perfect.
recording notes:
(1) This was recorded from the orchestra section, row RR, seat 113. This is
about 6 seats left of center, and right under the lip of the balcony,
for those of you who are familiar with the Orpheum Theater.
(2) I was told by the event staff to keep the mics at "head height." During
the first set, I crept up the mics, to probably ~6.5 ft. Then, during
break, I was asked by security to lower them. During the first song
of Set 2, I rose the back up. At times, you can hear the people directly
in front of my mics talking, or clapping. But this is infrequent, and
in my opinion, does not take very much away from the music.
(3) I forgot a couple of screw thread adaptors, and consequently, my mics were
attached to my stand using several strips of velcro. As such, I was not
able to place the mics in a standard XY or ORTF position. The mics were
running with only 5-10 degrees between them, and about 3 inches apart.
The stereo image suffers because of this, but given the circumstances,
I'm very happy with the recording.
***Setlist***
This setlist was posted after I tracked out the show,
and I just don't have time to retrack the show.
