This is my EQ/Volume-leveled version. Original silver sound quality: 6 - 7.5 / 10. Will attempt to post mp3 for comparison. Can/Will be willing to subsequently upload original version later, by request. This is far and away the best sounding and most well-performed show (circulating) by the original lineup. IMO, these performances show the band at it's peak as a "hard-rock" act. Those only familiar with the relatively tame studio versions of these songs will be surprised/shocked at volume and intensity of these live-in-studio (with small crowd) performances. WARNING: This is not soul/jazz/pop music. This has no association whatsoever with anything by Steely Dan or Michael McDonald. This is pure hard guitar rock. IMO, this is easily the best bootleg ever made featuring the "REAL" line-up! Never before seeded on DIME. Perhaps early days of EZT. Perplexingly hard to locate (outside of DB trade circles) considering high quality...

There are a few dropouts and other shortcomings in evidence from its cassette origins, but not so much as to distract from one's enjoyment. On the source cassette, "Without You" was cut off, and so I added a fadeout.

I fixed most dropouts although not 100% in some cases, took out some digital artifacts, raised the volume a bit on all tracks (especially on Natural Thing) and equalized the left and right channels. On the source cassette, "Without You" was cut off, so I added a fadeout." Show was retracked using CD Wave and then run through Shntool. The sound on Natural Thing sounds more generational and a bit more muddled than the rest of the disc, but listenable. I made separate "tuning" tracks when they went over a minute long. Seems the band had to tune up a lot! Kickass show in front of a small captive audience covering one of my favorite Doobie periods. Other than the KSAN 1972 Pacific High Recorders show I previously posted, I haven't seen any live Doobies from this period or before the Memphis and SNACK Benefit 1975 shows. The 1970 Pacifc Recording Studios show listed on the etree setlists is actually their demo album which was rejected by their record company, not a live show. If some are out there, let's get them posted! Although there are no dj comments or station id's (probably edited out), I'm fairly confident WLIR 92.7 did all the Ultrasonic shows as I recall from my youth.
