Notes: Historical interest only. This is one of the earliest known recordings of Jerry Garcia performing bluegrass and "old timey" music. The sound on this recording is not too bad for it's age, but is terrible by conventional standards. Regardless, this is a timeless classic that shows the roots of where alot of Jerry's music would come from in future songs. There is also quite a bit of talking and banter between songs from Jerry and Marshall. An interesting glimpse into the early musical life of Jerry Garcia. Jerry Garcia, age 19!!! - guitar and banjo, Marshall Leicester - banjo and guitar, Dick Arnold - fiddle.
