The tracks were not indexed and there was a noticible hiss throughout. I ripped the "track", and with Cool Edit, was able to take a good noise sample from the tape flip of the master right before the music started up again (tape flip is start of track 03 on D2).I removed the sampled noise from the rest of the file. The end product is definitely cleaner sounding than my original. There is some "fishbowl" effect in segments between tracks, as that is where the hiss was more prominant in the mix. Once the music starts...it's all good again (very good at that). Also...There is a crackling sound on both discs here and there. At first, I figured it to be digi noise, but after a few listens...you can tell it's a problem with Phil's equipment. Someone says "I think it's your bass.." at the end of Sugar Mag, beforethe "Sunshine Daydream" segment, so It must be present on the master. The un-Cool Edited version is also available. | |||||

Notes: | Rough start, some kind-of-close aud shots, but camera really bumps around,...... there's unknown filler(9 min.?) on the disc, but seems to just start over & over & over, it's screwed up, kinda. Overall,I give this a "B,to B-" rating Old VHS tape ^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ downloaded version > data on BDR 352 sp4 downloaded file info Grateful Dead Ventura County Fairgrounds Ventura, CA 7/13/85 - Saturday Set One (58:10) One More Saturday Night Fire On The Mountain Walkin' Blues Dupree's Diamond Blues Mama Tried > Big River Bird Song The Music Never Stopped Audio/Video notes: - SBDmc>DAT>CD>eac>cool edit>shn (SHNID=11642) Noise reduction by Nick Georges [11-20-1999] - ?
