Notes: I have heard that Phish has a habit of peaking too early and playing their best at their pre-New Year shows. True to form in 2003, one night early they go high energy and tear the place apart. Many fans, including my good mate Ed (who was there for them all this year!), claim this to be one of, if not THE, highest energy Phish show ever. The second set is just awesome with a fantastic cover of the Doors L.A. Woman. During "Makisupa" Trey invites George Clinton and Parliament-Funkadelic on stage for a medley including elements of "Botta Butt", "P-Funk", "Give Up The Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)", and "One Nation Under a Groove". Ed, I am still alive; just drowning in work! Thanks so much for this great show!
