1-7 Excellent soundboard. This is recorded from a vinyl source
Comments:
This CD has been mastered from vinyl. As such, hisses, pops and ticks can be heard. This is also the first time I've heard an instrumental version of "The Unforgettable Fire". Tracks 8 and 9 are not listed in the liner notes, but they appear on the CD.

Notes: |
I know the version with Rejoice faded-out, but this one IS complete
Got this cdr in a trade about two years ago. I can't remember his name anymore, but he told me that this cdr came straight from the mastertape. As far as I remember his friend was the taper. My thanks goes out to the English guys who taped this and shared it.

My recording is obviously a vinyl transfer - there is noticeable popping that is symptomatic of an old record. Also missing final track. |

Notes: |
Some time ago was discussion about source of this bootleg because tracklist absolutely does not correspond to "U2 Live: A Concert Documentary" Pimm Jal de la Parra.
Actually, on this disc an almost complete (last song "Rejoice" not included) concert from Paris Cinema Studio @ London, England - August 23, 1981. It was recorded for BBC 'In Concert'.
Bonus tracks from Hollywood Palladium @ Los Angeles, CA - November 28, 1981.
Originally thought to be "War" with the following.
Source:
(1-7): October 3, 1981. Salford, England. Salford University.
(8-10): February 25, 1982. Kansas City, MO. Uptown Theater.
Sound Quality:
(1-7): Very good broadcast.
(8-10): Very good audience.
All tracks are mastered from vinyl, resulting in occasional pops and ticks.
Comments:
A sticker on the cover says, "The release of this compact disc intends to commemorate the deaths of the Gulf War." (Whatever that is supposed to mean).
This is the original pressing on this label. |
