I would most certainly believe that this is the correct version. It is very hard to tell what is what and where it belongs on this date. I would consider this the source to have based on Peter Losin's take on what belongs here. - The sound is a little brighter on this version. - Thanks to Peter Losin for the source!! - "Very fragmentary; edited to Parker solos for the most part. The Parker Quintet was booked for two weeks at Chicago's Argyle Show Lounge (November 11-23, 1947), then for four nights at the Pershing Hotel Ballroom (January 3-6, 1948). It almost sounds as though it is compiled from two different sources at times. I received this show from three different people, each time, I received it with 11 tracks. I have done my best to put this back in the order that it was believed to be played. This is most definitely sourced from vinyl and has all the pops and crackle to prove it. I would give this one a completists only rating. All songs are segmented, mostly around Charlie Parker's solo's. The one item I found very interesting with this recording is the taper whistling the tunes as he records on a few of the tracks. -d1t01 Track is cut at the end. -d1t02 Track is cut at the beginning and the end -d1t03 Track is cut at the beginning -d1t04 Cut in the beginning. -d1t05 Track is cut at beginning and end -d1t06 Track is cut at the beginning.
