Notes: | Heres a b&p for five who can send quality blanks. show info is below. the L.A. string of shows from 77 are VERY strong shows and this one is no exception. i will be burning direct from the original silvers using eac in secure mode to extract Saturday Night's Alright (Wendy Records) 3 CD jewel case inside a card slipcase Los Angeles 25 June 1977 The Forum, Inglewood Disc 1 (72.03): The Song Remains The Same / Sick Again / Nobody's Fault But Mine /In My Time Of Dying / Since I've Been Loving You / No Quarter Disc 2 (61.57): Ten Years Gone / The Battle Of Evermore / Going To California /Black Country Woman / Bron-yr-Aur Stomp / White Summer - Black Mountain Side/ Kashmir / Trampled Underfoot Disc 3 (72.21): Moby Dick / Guitar Solo / Achilles Last Stand / Stairway To Heaven/ Whole Lotta Love / Communication Breakdown The fourth night of the historic six night stand at the LA Forum in June 1977 has usually been thought of as the best performance overall. We are again blessed with a truly excellent audience recording by the master himself, Mike Millard. There is no alternate source tape for this concert to fill the small gaps in the Millard recording. The sound quality on this new release is really excellent, and must now be regarded as the definitive release. Unfortunately there is one blemish on this release, on disc 2, track 6 (White Summer/Black Mountain Side), there is a digital dropout at 5.19 into the track. Apart from that it is a great release. The sound quality matches the previous benchmark sounding release, Black Cat's 4CD Battle Of Evermore. The packaging is very nice too, similar to the same label's Listen To This, Eddie release, it comes inside a three way plastic jewel case, which fits inside a glossy card slipcase. There is a booklet which contains an extremely accurate graphical chart of the composition of the Mike Millard original recording. On the back of this insert Wendy have once again lifted my analysis of the releases for this concert straight off Underground Uprising. However they have substituted their own release for my recommendation as the best title (which was at the time of writing Led Note's Saturday Night Special). Limited to 300 unnumbered copies. Notes: | Tough choice, but Eddie sounds better just by a hair (probably better placement in the audience is all). I agree wtih Butch's comments (the guy I got it from) that this is probably Page's best night in LA. | |||||
