Apparently, Universal UK reissued this in 2003 for their Universal Vinyl Series. They mistakenly used the masters from Steve Albini's original mixes, the ones so highly contested by Geffen that resulted in the hiring of R.E.M. producer Scott Litt to remix "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies." As a result, the reissue was quickly pulled and this record became an instant rarity.

As for the Steve Albini mix: there are significant differences on the two tracks mentioned above. The most notable difference on "Heart-Shaped Box" is the effect on the guitar solo, a sort of echo-phase effect that is borderline nauseating, but shreds nonetheless. "All Apologies" features Kera Schaley's cello more prominently in the mix, contributing a chaos to the coda of the track not present on the Scott Litt mix. There also appears to be a second added guitar track during the verses. Both tracks minimize the effect of double-tracking on Cobain's vocals apparent on the more familiar Scott Litt mixes (in fact, I can only detect one vocal track on both songs).
