Notes: | At this point the ABB was moving forward as a 5 piece band and this show points out how dearly Duane is missed. Still, even without the awesome soloing of Duane, this is a great show featuring a lot of early classic tunes that would still be staples 30 years later.

Notes: | The Allman Brothers Band April 7, 1972 Manley Field House Syracuse, NY Source: FM (?Pre-FM) > 1st gen Reel > DATs Transfer: DAT 60ES > M-Audio Audiophile USB > WAV > Flac Disc 1 1. Statesboro Blues 2. Done Somebody Wrong 3. Ain't Wastin' Time No More 4. One Way Out 5. Stormy Monday 6. You Don't Love Me 7. In Memory of Elizabeth Reed Disc 2 1. Midnight Rider 2. Whipping Post Encore 3. Hot 'Lanta 4. Stage Annoucement Notes: Very good sounding recording with a few notable features. There is minimal tape hiss. The mix is unusual with a prominent bass guitar especially noticable in the first few songs. Things even out as the show goes on. I think that this is more likely is from a pre-fm source for the following reasons: The sound is not at all compressed sounding. Second, there is no evidence of a radio announcer at any point. The third is that the stage annoucements are included at the end of the show, something which would not be part of a radio broadcast. The show was presented by WAER and later broadcast by Tony Yoken who worked at WAER and later played this show on a radio station in Long Island (according to abb website). d1t06 tape flip removed, small amount missing There are a few occaisonal pops, but not were loud enough to easily remove with the pop/click editor. No digital glitches that I could see. transfer: [email protected]
