The date of this performance is often cited to be August 12, 1973. This date was checked directly with Bob Webb, who was supposed to appear with Tom on the program, but instead took a flight to San Francisco for other business. A discussion of this can be heard in Track 12. Bob kept fastidious records of every flight he ever took, and using those records was able to peg the correct date as September 21, 1973. This information came directly from Bob.
