Notes: A couple of days after Paul Simon joined Paul McCartney at his Landmine Benefit, Macca returned the favor by sitting in at Paul Simon's show at the Greek Theater for one song. It's a fun duet. Otherwise, this is a pretty representative setlist from Simon's summer 2001 tour, which was more or less a shortened version of what he played in his fall 2000 theater tour. I believe the only song in this set that didn't appear in 2000 is the final encore, "Loves Me Like A Rock." Nonetheless, this is great for anyone who enjoys live Paul Simon in any context, and worth having for die-hard Beatles collectors. The recording is a very good soundboard. It is probably from a commercial bootleg, but I couldn't find the title anywhere on a Google search -- if anyone recognizes this and can provide the title (and perhaps the artwork???), I would appreciate it. If anyone has and can post the Brian Wilson opening set, I'm sure that many people would appreciate that as well. This is comparable to the Beacon soundboard in terms of quality; probably not as lush a mix as the Hollywood Bowl show. Enjoy the show! | |||||
