(AL, CHUCK, ROB AND VINNIE):: Dear Friends, As you may know, our friends Joe Carney and Anne Gray have been going through some tough times in the last few months. Joe is a devoted father and friend, and has devoted 15 years of his life to helping the public as a police officer. Now, Joe needs our help. He was recently diagnosed with a brain tumor and had a successful operation on February 4, 2003. This operation is very invasive and Joe's future is uncertain. But what is certain is that any help he can get from us in the form of donations, will aid in his recovery and well being, and the well being of his two sons. His insurance will cover his hospital stay, which could be a few days up to several months. But the cost of the surgery, which is almost $25,000, is not covered by his insurance. The doctor is one of the best in the world and has performed over 6,000 similar surgeries. We don't honestly know what will happen after the surgery, but if you know Joe, this is not something he will let beat him. Joe and Anne are very giving and generous people. Let's show them our support by giving back to them. (Post operative notes: Joe had his surgery at NYU and made out very well. The tumor is NON-cancerous - fibrous tumor that is intertwined in his brain stem. They removed as much of the tumor that they could. He has come out of the surgery very well - no paralysis. Now, he has rehab and recovery - and enormous medical bills to pay.) We have set up a donation fund for Joe at Trustco Bank. There are several ways you can donate if you wish to: 1. Mail, bring in, or wire a check to any Trustco bank in the area. The account is under Marci Fila's name, but is noted "For the Benefit of Joseph Carney". The account number is 2780962 and the routing number is 021300912. A list of branch locations may be found here: http://www.trustcobank.com/branches.asp 2. Mail a check for deposit into the account to: Marci Fila or Debbie Amico 129 Shaker Run 216 Falsetto Ct Albany, NY 12205 Ballston Spa, NY 12020. 3. Make a secure payment via PayPal. Go to www.filamedia.com and follow the link to PayPal. You can pay from your PayPal account or if you don't have an account, you can pay by credit card. Please note that a 2.9% fee will be assessed to Joe's account ([email protected]) for any credit card payments. This information can also be found at this website: www.filamedia.com. Thank you all in advance for any donations you may be able to give. Sincerely, Marci & Jeff Fila Debbie & Vinnie Amico
