Comment
In the mid 70's there was a mini-boom in quadrophonic stereo. Systems were sold which would allow 4 channels of stereo instead of 2. Of course, the record companies jumped right on the bandwagon and released a lot of the biggest hits of the day in quadrophonic stereo. Unfortunately or not, quadrophonic never really caught on and was gone within a few short years. As quad never became popular the titles released in this format sold poorly, making them relatively rare. Thanks to this phenomenon we have quad versions of 2 of JT's albums, Gorilla and One Man Dog. Of the two One Man Dog is far more interesting. Five tracks feature different lead vocals than the regular stereo release. The mixes are, for the most part, different which subtly alters the texture of the album. There is also an extended version of Little David with an extra instrumental break. As bonus tracks all but two songs are repeated using more different mixes tocreate a second alternate version. This includes some instrumental only tracks and some with just JT and his guitar.
