Notes: "Mountains and Deserts Platinum Ed" remastered by currygoat11 - 1/11/04 source: SBD (allegedly from vid outtakes from Rattle & Hum) more info on original Mountains and Deserts: http://www.u2news.de/flom/reviews-m/mountainsanddeserts.htm Notes: 11/7/87 is arguably the best SBD Joshua show. There are several different productions of this recording (Enjoy, Mountains in a Blue Sky, Mountains and Deserts Remastered, Caught On 35mm, etc). Well, this version (Platinum Ed) is the cream of the crop in my opinion. This version was remastered directly from a copy of Mountains and Deserts. Most improvements include: removal of oodles of clicks and pops, smooth transition between tracks where possible, patching in a couple of missing seconds in October, making Star Spangled Banner its own track, better equalization of "40". There's a peak of treble at ~15,800Hz. This is normally not a problem whatsoever unless you crank your treble up (which you shouldn't do!). I ended up not removing this band of treble. Most people have different opinions on which version of 11/7/87 is the "best"; "Mountains and Deserts Remastered" is very good; well this is my interpretation of the best; if you don't find it to your liking, you can always just delete it now can't you? Truly, a grade A+ full-show SBD recording from the Joshua Tree tour - can't go wrong with this.

Rodney's Studio (2/0) CD-R / 2 A+ View   HiFi VHS Sourced SBD
Notes: The "Caught on 35 mil Film" HiFi VHS sourced SBD version...excellent sound quality, minimal hiss present in the quieter parts. The vocals are a tad heavy in the overall mix, but overall the guitar, bass, and drums all sound equally balanced and very clear. also have the "Mountains & Deserts Remastered"...the oringial, nonremastered version was Ranked #3 on a top 10 list of JT Tour best audio recordings. The remastered version is cleaned up and just a notch or two inferior to the VHS sourced version above IMO.

Todd (2/4.6) CDR / 2 View
Notes: There seems to be some clicks, stutters now and then on some of the tracks. On October for example you hear the song start and it clicks back to the start of the song after a few seconds. Over all sound is good but not flawless, so just a heads up. Still a super listen. This disc also features U2's set from the Amnesty International show at Giants Stadium from 6-15-86. This set is FM sourced and is also great quality Giant Stadium 6-15-86: 7. MLK->Pride 8. Maggie's Farm-> 9. Cold Turkey-> Maggie's Farm 10. Help! 11. Sun City
