Early Show

Note that this date/performance is also a placeholder for versions of this performance that circulate as a "compilation" of the various nights at the Fillmore East, along the lines of:

"Recorded by Bear (Owsley Stanley). On his website thebear.com he says it is a
compilation of tracks from the 3 night run, in setlist order. They played the same
setlist each night, and there was only ONE show."

Notes: this is the late show, opening for the Dead DP 4 show...probably the best of the 3 night run..this show is also available from allmanbrothers.com as a cdr called "Fillmore 2/70". This is a good starting point for a Duane era collection. Recorded by Bear (Owsley Stanley; on his website thebear.com he says it is a compilation of tracks from the 3 night run, in setlist order..they played the same setlist each night, and there was only ONE show..debunks the early show/late show myths from the Fillmore Allmans and GD runs)

Notes: A nicely preserved copy of this show. I can't tell if it is a compilation of several nights or if it is in fact the 'late show', the 'early show' or whatever. It's still good and Duane is demonstrating his mastery of the open tuned slide guitar.
