Notes from Jim Goldman: In 1990 or so my uncle was going to throw out a big box of reel to reel tapes and since he still had the machine he bought to play them on I wanted to go through the box. Most of the reels were WLS top 40 for 6 years in a row not missing a week. I found a diferent type of tape (Ampex) and it said GD Huntington and that was it. I of course wanted to transfer it as best I could and there were no real 24/48 recorders out there except for computer recording. The computer room was on the complete other side of the home so we did a transfer in real time on a Phillips "super CD" recorder which meant 24/48. What may have happened is we ran out of room on a CD and had to stop the recorder very quickly to change CDs and that may also make the missing verse question answered. I started again at the wrong place. this was a huge challenge and I think we did OK. shntool output: length expanded size cdr WAVE problems filename 5:46.67 61192028 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t01.MOTB.flac 3:31.48 37333340 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t02.MOTB.flac 4:30.24 47684492 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t03.MOTB.flac 7:42.01 81499196 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t04.MOTB.flac 3:25.30 36232604 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t05.MOTB.flac 2:36.22 27570188 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t06.MOTB.flac 6:56.23 73436540 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t07.MOTB.flac 5:31.62 58534268 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t08.MOTB.flac 9:53.50 104722844 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t09.MOTB.flac 9:08.43 96768380 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t10.MOTB.flac 7:04.20 74840684 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t11.MOTB.flac 7:46.20 82249484 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d1t12.MOTB.flac 12:29.25 132182444 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t01.MOTB.flac 11:35.47 122708588 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t02.MOTB.flac 19:08.20 202554284 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t03.MOTB.flac 11:55.10 126149564 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t04.MOTB.flac 9:47.13 103577420 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t05.MOTB.flac 5:25.62 57475868 --- -- ---xx gd1978-04-16d2t06.MOTB.flac 144:14.62 1526712216 B (totals for 18 files, 0.6569 overall compression ratio) There were no sector boundary errors.
