Notes: | The TC review is too negative. Sound is quite good and for an added treat I have the cancellation announcement by Bobby for the original gig. Jerry's voice cracks a bit and some transitions aren't smooth but overall the playing is engaging to deserve a listen

Notes: | [2006-09-14] The Story of This Soundboard: This SBD comes from Vince Perrotti who gave it to Peter Hedeman with following notes: "This was my 18th birthday and a friend of mine was allowed to patch in. He gave me the boards on the 18th. It was a great show, especially for those of us who made the trip up on 11.25.78 when Jerry fell ill." Vince also mentioned that "I noticed as time went by that no one had these boards. I know January '79 boards are rare and I caught 8 shows that month and they were all smoking." This is my 2nd listen to this performance and I'm more aligned now with the TC review - set 1 features tunes that are low on my list of favorites and the delivery is lackluster as well. Set 2 looks better on paper but Jerry's voice is strained and not until EOTW, space and NFA does it seem to gel into something that doesn't require effort to listen to. Also, the board is not your Betty mix and there rae a fair number of cuts/gaps etc.

Notes: | Glassberg by MORB [2007-05-08]Sloppy. Fire has everyone take a turn quoting the theme but no one has anything else to say, so I guess it back to Jerry's weak cracking voice to wrap up. And how about that Estimated - Jerry and Keith can't keep from stepping on each other's toes. Oh well - we know that for a band that delivered consistently epic shows, sometimes its gonna be average. This is one of those nights.

Nice tape though. | |||||

Matrix is set at 50/50 blend [2008-05-14]Very poor phasing between the sbd and aud in many places - I'm guessing no on elistened to this but lined up the two sources at a few places and let it go at that - listen to INAM at end of set 1 where it is extremely off. Set 1 Shakedown sounds energetic but then the rest is downhill from there

McCabe Mastering Tools: Plugins included Nomad Factory and Izotope [2008-05-16]This is the sbd portion of the matrix, so it has gaps etc that are as long as the music missing. This is a reasonable sbd tape, but not stellar and the show is average for 79 at best for me.
